March 25th, is a day of infamous massacre in the history of human civilization of the world. On the night of March 25, 1971, a sudden blow fell on the people of Bangladesh (then East Pakistan).
In the name of ‘Operation Search Light’, the Pakistani invasion forces indiscriminately carried out the most brutal massacre in the history of the world on the unarmed Bengalis, and the life of the Bengali nation fell into a terrible dark night. On this night of 1971, the hands of the Pakistan Army wrote a black chapter of the world’s most brutal genocide.
Pakistan President Yahya Khan was still in Dhaka. He left Dhaka for Karachi on March 25. Even then, the people of the world, including the Bengalis, could not even imagine that he left the soil of Dhaka after finalizing the blueprint of a genocide. On that night of March 25, the innocent Bengalis of Dhaka were in a deep sleep after the whole day’s work. Just then, the invading army jumped like a fierce hyena. The olive colored tanks like ferocious whips continued to rush towards Dhaka University, Police-EPR barracks. An infamous history was written.
At 11:30 pm, the murderous cowardly Pakistani soldiers loaded jeep-trucks from the cantonment and spread across the city with modern weapons including tanks. Modern rifles, machine guns and mortars roared in the air. At that time, the Pakistani army was intoxicated by the frenzied rampage of brutal killing and destruction. At that time, dead bodies were scattered in various places including Rajarbagh police line, Pilkhana EPR headquarters, Dhaka University, Dhaka Medical College Hospital, Bangladesh University of Engineering, Neelkhet. At midnight, Dhaka was the city of corpses. The conscience of the world is stunned by this massacre of unarmed sleeping people. This armed and cowardly operation was carried out to destroy the desire of Bengalis for freedom in the bud.
